     LENT 2020      


LENT WORSHIP

As well as our usual Services on Sunday and throughout the week,
we host a Sunday Evening service at 6:00pm
where we will follow the theme of drawing closer to god.


Morning Prayer
On weekdays during Lent the Revd Lydia will say Morning Prayer in church at 9:00am
EXCEPT for Tuesdays when it will be at 8:30am.
It will last about 20 minutes.

LENT STUDY

This year our Lent study will be based on the book by Stephen Cottrell
'I Thirst: The Cross - The Great Triumph of Love'

Choose between Wednesday Morning or Thursday Evening:

Wednesday Mornings after the 10:00am Service.
We will meet at 11:00am followed by lunch together at 12:30pm.
Soup & Bread will be provided.
March 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th, April 1st

Thursday Evenings at 7:45pm in the Vicarage
March 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th, April 2nd


LENT GIVING

This year we are supporting the "Acorns Children's Hospice".
This is a charity which provides a network of specialist palliative nursing care and support to babies,
children and young people up to 18 years of age who have life limiting or life threatening conditions

ABOUT OUR ALPHA COURSE
Our next Alpha Course is starting this coming Sunday 23rd February 2020!
If you have any questions about life, faith or God - Alpha is the place for you! The Alpha Course is a series of interactive sessions that freely explore the basics of the Christian faith. The talks are designed to encourage conversation and explore topics in a friendly, open and informal environment. No question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish. At any point, if you think Alpha isn't for you, that's not a problem. There's no pressure, no follow up and no charge. To find out more, or register your interest

PANCAKE PARTY

We are invited by the Mothers Union
to share their Pancake Party in the Church Centre


Come and join us at 2:00pm

This is a traditional thing to do and will help us to get Lent off to a good start.
Pancakes and a drink will be provided, all we ask for is a donation.

Meets monthly on the 2nd Monday of each month
10:00am until noon in Christ Church Centre


In the Trefoil Guild, women and men aged 18+ make new friends, travel, explore,
serve their communities and help Guiding (and Scouting) thrive across the UK!

New Book Donations Required!

Please let us have any new books that you have read and don't want anymore.
The books will then be lent out for a small fee (50p).
The bookstall is located in the Church Centre.
This will help raise funds for the Christ Church Centre.
